She's well read

I don't think I've ever read so many books in my life. I like to read but definitely wouldn't classify myself as a Rory Gilmore type. In the past I have read mostly non-fiction books on business and self-improvement; however, the pandemic has had me searching for different ways to escape the stress of both work and reality. After reading a particularly good book, I noticed that I was able to drift off to sleep easier because I had something else to think about besides the coronavirus. I found myself thinking about the characters and what I anticipated was going to happen next, allowing me to blissfully drift off to sleep. A personal game changer!

Although many of these were classified as beach reads (especially the one titled Beach Read), I think they are all pretty perfect for taking you away any time of the year without too much drama. Author Emma Straub also owns a brilliant little bookstore in Brooklyn called Books are Magic, and after the last 7 months, I can't think of a better description. Happy reading!
